Jill Biden's slip-up on Oprah

Did anyone else watch that and were you not shocked that the Sec of State position was offered to Joe Biden first??? Wow. I would have loved to be a fly on that wall after Joe and Jill walked off stage!!! I felt bad for Jill Biden, she looked like she wanted to disappear after that.....

I think Joe BSes to Jill as much as he does to the rest of us - and he never expected her to repeat it!

Agree with PP: Biden is kind of a buffoon (did you hear his quote about being the most experienced VP than "anybody"). I bet he made it up to Jill--but if not, THANK GOODNESS he chose VP--can you imagine him out there with his foot in mouth disease.

I don't think Biden really got to choose; I can't imagine Obama putting him out there as secretary of state.

Speaking of buffoon. . . . Did you see his bad joke at Roberts' expense, at the repeat of the swearing-in? In the video Obama's reaction was stony and disapproving. Marc Ambinder and Colby King both wrote about it and said Biden needs to get over his need to be the life of the party and realize he's vice president now, not hanging out with the guys in the Senate cloakroom. Ambinder thinks goofy Biden will clash with the serious, sober, and disciplined Obama. I'm sure Obama knew that all along, and knew the lower-profile VP post would be better for him. I think Biden just likes to BS, as someone else posted. Did he really say he's the most experienced VP, more than anybody? I love it. As Dave Barry said, he has been a tireless champion of change ever since he was elected to the Senate in 1847.
