Where can I find Boston Creme Pie?

Is there a bakery in the DC Metro Area that sells Boston Creme Pie? I know you can get it by the slice at Legal, but I'm looking for a whole cake.

How difficult is it to make at home? Oh, I remember we had it often at school lunch when I was a kid! My stars was it yummy! That was the bygone era of Real Lunch Ladies who actually prepared the food in the kitchen. I wonder if they used pre-made filling? It was sooooo good.

(looks as if I'd better have a glass of water to stave off the Boston Creme Pie attack)

Not too hard.. You have to make three things, pastry cream, the cake, and the frosting/icing.

Your baby deserves this delicacy. I've looked up the recipe; looks too good to pass up. Organic flour!

Aw, we had Real Lunch Ladies who liked to bake too. I miss their spice cake.
