Maryland's estate tax exemption will gradually be increased to match the federal exemption -- approximately 5.9 million in 2019. The current exemption is 1 million. The law was signed May 15, 2014. Just posting in case this is of interest to anyone. I was planning to move from MD to VA, but finding this info will make me stay in MD for now. |
