Orphan Black -- Tony character

So the introduction of the Tony trans character was an interesting concept but it was the first time I felt let down by Tatiana Maslany. I really did not think that she pulled this one off. Constantly felt this was a woman with a beard. Did not like Tony at all and wanted him gone.

I also thought Tony was the weakest. Tony said "yeah" the way Sarah does and both clones have Maslany's real hair so they seem similar. But this is her 9th(?) clone and it must be difficult to make their mannerisms/accents/etc. different. She gets a pass because her work on this series has been outstanding. But I will be angry if they kill Cosima.

So I felt the same at first , b/c I typically half watch most shows while I do other stuff, BUT I am pretty sure that Tony is transgendered which makes more sense as to why he looks feminine. Again I mentioned I half watched so I could be wrong.

Off to the interweb to check

Now I remember, he was injecting testosterone so he was originally a she for sure. So it make the softness of Tony more eaily forgiven in my eyes.

It wasn't pulled off well, that's for sure. For all of the other characters, I don't even realize that it's the same actress, but for this one, I do feel like it's a woman playing dress up.
