| Looking for recs on a treadmill that will only be used for walking. I see some online but reviews are totally mixed. Anyone have one and notice a difference between it and a treadmill designed for running? Maybe it's just a marketing gimmick. Would like to stay under $1000. I saw the post about a treadmill rec in 2013, but it was for someone who was running on it. Thanks! |

We bought the mid range Landice treadmill to be used mostly be me, a walker (try to log about 12 miles/week) and sometimes by my significantly bigger and taller husband, a runner.
It's been great and we're on our second treadmill. Landices are expensive, but built like tanks and designed for hard use, like in a fitness club. Landices come with a lifetime warranty that we've used once in two years - free service - for anything treadmill related. |
| for just walking, you can go pretty cheap. Years ago I bought a $700 Proform treadmill from Sears. I can't run on it anymore (I'm too fast and it hasn't really been maintained), but for walking, it's great. |

I use this treadmill desk for walking. I can use it while reading on the computer, while I work at home. It has been great. It is such a time saver, and it allows me to walk a few extra miles on some days. It can go up to 4 MPH. I got it on Craigslist, almost new. It doesn't incline, though. |
