Invitations and rsvps were by text. Ok to text the kids playing saying thank you?
They're 2 and 4 so they can't write yet. I'm new to this. |
| For a birthday party and gift, no. For a casual play date, sure. |
|
No. I'm sorry. People took the time to come to your event, shop for gifts, etc. The least you could do is send emails with pics of the kids holding each gift.
But really, the proper thing to do is to handwrite each thank you and have the kids "sign" their names. Your idea would make me RSVP no the next time you invited me to something. |
| Please spend some time writing actually thank you notes. Ditto the PP on this. So many people no longer bother with thank you notes and I think it is rude. It takes 5 minutes to write one and then just help your child sign it. |

I realize we're dinosaurs, but on our plan, each text, either sending or receiving, costs $0.40. We'd already be down $0.80, with another text it's over a dollar.
At least include a staged picture of your kid playing with the gift. |
That's ridiculous. I'm not for texting thank your, but get a data plan and stop blaming others for your stupid backwards financial decisions. |
| At least do an email with whole sentences and everything. And yes, some people don't have free texts, or gasp, a text plan at all. |
We've got a data plan. Send email. We don't have a text plan. Like I said, we're dinosaurs. |
Maybe she's got no financial problems because she doesn't have a ridiculous cell phone plan. Or maybe she one of the "poors", but I guess you don't associate with people like that. |
| It is rude to do anything but send a written thank you note. If you send a text thank you to me, I'm letting my friends know about it because it is so ridiculous. |
If she's poor, it may have something to do with the fact that she pays 40 cents a text! |
| I didn't know that you could get a data plan that didn't include texting. |
+1 |
NP here. Not everybody has a data plan. Not everybody is in love with cell phones or needs data or texting. Some people just want 100 minutes/ month for emergencies. Do not assume everyone rolls exactly like you do (not you, PP). |
You would have to look very hard for a plan that is 40 cents a text. |
