Trump says UFC match at WH next year.

Let's be clear -- this was a spectacle put on while children in our country are going hungry. While people can't pay their bills.

I'd bet a paycheck of my own that if you look at the construction and supplies deals, someone connected to Trump was making bank on selling shoddy work for overinflated prices.

Agree. It happened the day after the Knicks, and just as the World Cup was starting. By contrast it was so small, an ugly gilded tchotchke of an event.

A Teeny tiny, nothing burger of an event that didn’t even capture a news cycle. I would’ve never even known something was going on if it hadn’t been for the fighter jets flying over my house.

Except this topic was started here almost a year ago. Are you new here?

OF course I knew about it but this event didn’t register with anyone I know who doesn’t follow politics. Look at how NYC exploded with joy over the knicks win. Look at the hundreds of thousands of people across the country, donning, different soccer jerseys and gathering to watch a game . Read about cities like Lawrence, Kansas, who have adopted Algerian team.

These events bring people together, multiplying support. spectacles like that on the White House lawn divides people. Small audience, small thinking.

my favorite part of all this is that even after the ridiculous and disgusting spectacle, and all of the attention they got for their gladiator pageant, the thing it might most be remembered for his some MAGA underwear fighter fantasizing about trans people again! LMAO they couldn’t control their sexual fetishes for one single night!

Have they taken down the dome at the White House and the tarp at the Kennedy Center yet?

Comparing the 24th UFC event of 2026 to the Knicks ending a 53 year championship drought, and the most watched sporting event in the world that only happens every four years, is galatically stupid. Congratulations! You just won the internet today.

Constitution was a mess this morning. What an embarrassment.

"proprietary blend"

Why is the White House lawn a secret formula?

I can't tell if they are insane, stupid, or running a scam.
Anonymous
Can we get a proprietary concrete blend to seal Trump in his mausoleum ballroom?
Future Presidents will have a permanent reminder of their sacred duty to prevent the vanpiric rise of MAGA evil.

Now people are whining about grass repair? Embarrassing.

I hate Trump, but there were news articles saying that UFC had already committed millions to repair the lawn. This feels like an advertising grift, which would be on par for this admin.

I'm ^^ and I was wrong. UFC committed $700K for it, not millions, so yes it must be worse, and it must be more advertising. And, will probably be screwed up.

"UFC CEO Dana White has said the promotion expects to spend around $700,000 replacing the grass after the event. Concern has been raised over the reported $60 million price tag of the entire event, but White has said his company will pay the full cost."
