Have any local restaurants been on Kitchen Nightmares or other restaurant rescue shows?

I'm fascinated by the state of some of these places. Have any local restaurants been on one of these shows?

Almost every episode I've seen is in either CA or NY/NJ, but they did do Cafe Hon in Baltimore, as I recall.

Yup, and it was a hilarious episode too.

Yes, the Bar Rescue episode on Piratz Tavern was epic! They also did an episode on a dive in Fells Point but I can't remember the name.

A "dive" in Fells Point? I'm shocked!

The only thing worse than that episode is actually going there. Which I have done 3 times for the sake of friends and family who come to town and saw that episode.

See, then, the show really did save it...

I can hardly blame Piratz for rejecting all the changes Bar Rescue made. Changing the name to "Corporate Bar"? WTF?????

Yeah it's like they went out of their way to cone up with a theme that was as bland and offensive to the owners' sensibilities as possible.

I agree that the corporate theme was awful but since the owner is stuck on the original concept, Piratz should be doing kids parties all day long during the week and then the adult entertainment in the evening.

We went to Piratz a few months ago for laughs. I think there were 8 or 10 of us.

The food is terrible. Eat before you go.

The service was good. Our server was funny (maybe a little corny) but he was on the spot.

The drinks were actually pretty good, and they are STRONG. I didn't care for the grog, but others did. They had some decent punches and somehow their spiced rum/Coke combo was better than at a regular bar.

We went fairly early, and there were a few families with kids. The kids were eating up because the staff will run around and sing silly songs to them.

So as a restaurant, yes, it's awful. As a place to entertain your kids in the early evening or to tie one on later in the evening, it's awesome.

The bar in Fells was called Murphy's Law.

Who the hell names a bar Corporate Bar?

"Let's all meet up at Corporate Bar!" I want to discuss my 401k with you.
