| I had a terrible day yesterday, and I am wondering what tricks other moms use to keep themselves uplifted and positive on very bad days. Any tips are greatly appreciated. |

It's sometimes cheesy, but I subscribe to joel osteen's daily prayer email. It's always an uplifting message.
I also like this website a lot: www.mydivinejava.com "Divine Cloud" I know who I am. As a divine being who was planned, designed, and molded by God, I know that like a cloud, all things on Earth are temporary. I understand that at some point, storm clouds will come my way. I will encounter circumstances that cloud and limit my ability to see the entire beauty of the sky. If I focus on the clouds, I can be easily influenced by what I see as opposed to the fundamental truth that the sun always comes after the rain. Although clouds may conceal the sun, the sun’s presence remains constant. In my life, God has shown me time and time again that all clouds shall pass, but He controls how and when. I must not lose sight that God’s mighty wind and strength can and will move clouds. I can choose to focus on the clouds I see or the sun that I know is only hidden. No tree can bear fruit without storm clouds that bring rain. Today, I choose to adjust my perspective to focus on God’s hidden treasure rather than the clouds I see. PRAYER: Lord, thank You for the clouds in my life. You are the only one who knows just the right time to send rain and when to reveal the sun. Help me not to focus on the clouds I see, but on the sun that always comes after the rain. Show me—through Your divine perspective—how to focus on the sweet smell of the ripe fruit that is produced as a result of storm clouds. In Jesus’ Holy name, Amen. Scripture Reference “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1 |

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. |

"And all will be well, and all will be well, and all manner of things will be well."
I forget who said it, a medieval nun, I think. |

| That which does not kill me can only make me stronger. |
| God, give me the knowledge of your will and the power to carry it out. |

Grant me the serenity to
Accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking this world as it is, not as I would have it. Trusting that things will be alright. That I may be reasonably happy in this life and happy forever in the next. |
| I was going to post Jeremiah 29:11 too! |
| When I was 17, I worked with an colorful old lady, Leona, who always used to say "In a hundred years, I'll be dead and it won't matter anyway". It stuck with me to this day. I try to think of things like that when I've flubbed something "major" up at work or something similar. |
