Clock is Ticking

Now that all the hoopla is over. It is time for Obama to start delivering on everything that he has been promising.

I hope that all who have become so enamored with him will judge him the same way past presidents (both democrat and republican) have been judged and not just get a free pass for his 1st 4 years.

This is not an on the job learning program. We need some to lead today, not in a couple of years.

I wish him the best and hopes he can succeed but if he happens to fail who will take the blame?

Well, so far, Obama has stopped the implementation of several of Bush's last-minute regulations, asked for a halt of Gitmo tribunals, and is meeting today with military commanders (presumably to ask for a plan to leave Iraq). All that and it's not even 10 am yet. So, I'd say there shouldn't be too much concern on your part.

huge policy changes cannot make concrete differences overnight. Think of it like weight loss.

You are incorrectly assuming that these are all the right decisions without yet knowing the impact of each.

How long does he get? Does he get a pass for the 1st four years?

What is his plan for all the Gitmo prisoners? Let them all go back home - will you feel safer if that happens?

How do you know the assumption is incorrect? If you have such a good crystal ball, why not go ahead and tell us how the Obama administration turns out?

Your original post asked that Obama start to deliver, not that he deliver the things that you want. He already has started to deliver, like it or not.

No one here seems to want the ask tough question. How do you think this administration is going to pay for everything they are promising to the American people?

When your taxes go up you will then know the cold hard truth.

The bar has been set so low. Shouldn't be hard to at least improve over the last president!

You're so right, pp. Country or humanity -- if it's for the general good that my taxes go up, I'm up for it!

It takes time to undue 8 years of damage.

Although I generally oppose pointing out people's typos, I can't pass up the chance to highlight a neat phrase like GWB's "undue 8 years".
