Did your child see a psychologist for ADHD?

I mean CBT or counselling, talk therapy.

Did it help?
What did it help with?
How many sessions were needed?

I think what has helped is the Concerta - ours has impulse control issues.

DC also does CBT, and I think that has been helpful to a degree, but I think the medication has been helpful especially.

18:33 here- ours wasn't diagnosed properly til HS. Trust me when I say unaddressed ADHD impulse control issues in a teen are no joke. A few years of pure hell. We never realized ADHD was the issue. Concerta and professionals have vastly improved decision making.

We just started, at age 5. Not sure yet if it's helping.

I think counselling helps.

I agree. The medication was life altering for my DS. He is also on Concerta but you have to find the right medication for your child. We never considered talk therapy or CBT because once he started on the meds the impulsive behavior evaporated.
