Does any lease or own a mercedes GL450? If so any feedback we are thinking of buying aused

I am thinking of buying a used one for my wife but I am nervous about the cost of repairing this beast!! Any feedback would be appreciated. If anyone has one that they would like to sell that would also be helpful!

Are you or your wife a snob? If not, I cannot think of a single reason why you would do this.

My sister owns a 2010. They bought it new and she hates it. She's had a number of problems with it, including transmission problems.

I have an ML that I've been happy with thus far, also a 2010. It's smaller, of course, but is easier to manage (I've also driven hers) although it has some bad blind spots. I'm also worried about future repairs - nothing bad so far though just regular maintenance.

PP again. Just took it in for annual service a few weeks ago. We have about 30K miles and the service person said we're 5-10K miles from needing new tires. He then mentioned that with the GL, you go through 4 new tires every 20 - 25K miles.

This forum is UFB. Maybe he wants the car? I am sorry that everybody here isn't trying to buy a five year old Outback and drive it for 10 years.

It's a great car. Also the CPO warranty is better than the new car warranty - If you are able to buy the car, there is no reason to worry about the maintenance. It will be the same or better than any other comparable car.

I'll sell you mine. I've had it about a year after driving an ML for 5 years. Honestly, I don't really like it. It drives exactly like the ML, and isn't any harder to park even though it's longer. There's nothing wrong with it, and I don't think that service is much different from any other car.
I wish I'd waited for the new MDX and got that instead.
FWIW, the tire thing pp mentioned is normal with big heavy cars. If you get low profile tires they need to be replaced about every year at $500+ each.

What year is your GL? Are you serious you considering selling it?

I was half kidding, but if you are serious about potentially buying it, then I could be serious about selling it. I just haven't given it that much thought as I know that I will lose a ton of money at the dealer. It's a 2013 with about 7000 miles.

The new MDX has such an ugly interior compared to the GL. Wow I'm surprised you would go that route.

We drove a GL on vacation once and it was wonderful but I had some trouble parking it. If I could afford one and had more kids I would have bought one though. We have an X5 that we like though.

Well, I've never been in the MDX. I guess I should check that out. The GL does drive very nicely.

We have the sedan. No repairs, no worries. The GL is a bit small in the back for an SUV.

Ummm, am I not supposed to? Do I just assume the guy is lying for no reason at all, given that my car is an ML and he's talking about a GL?

Yep. What a piece of nonsense they spout. Since the car never breaks down they have to think of some way to get your money.
