I didn't know the President went to public schools

In fact, I was surprised to read through his biography and see how atypical his youth was. Father died young, mother dying, raised by grandparents, moving often, using drugs, etc.
Amazing he has come so far! There is hope for us! |

Where did you hear that? He went to Punahou on a scholarship, and I believe that his mother grew up in Kansas. |

Where? Do you mean Harvard, because of his father? His father was studying for a Ph.D. at Harvard but I can't remember if he graduated. |
