some of this is due to loss of elasticity as i age, but my legs, arms and hands are so dry. anyone find a great moisturizer that my skin can drink up?? thanks! |
Aveeno makes one that is very stong. |
I use Cetaphil moisturizing creme. It's not glamourous, but it really works and it's inexpensive. |
THe yellow moisturizer by Kiehls is amazing. Pricey, but you only need a little bit. I use it only in the dead of winter and it makes a huge difference. |
remember to exfoliate too--Trader Joe's sells a tangerine sugar scrub that is great for this. |
I use Cetaphil cream, too. The one in the tub. It is the only one (and I've tried tons) that keeps my skin from itching in this cold and dry weather. |
trader joe's has a new intensive moisturizer that works quite well too. |
Cetaphil or Eucerin. |
I have to ditto the Cetaphil ... you can get it at Costco for about $9 for the tub of the cream. (They also have lotion, but the cream is more moisturizing). |
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Body Lotion. Lasts longer than any other lotion I've tried (including the ones mentioned above!) |
Lubriderm is good. If you want stronger, then Cetaphil cream is good. Don't get the generic looking Cetaphil. It's not as good. |
I like Curel. Also if your skin is really really dry you can try baby oil. It will make it very moist. |
FYI - The sugar scrub is sugar and oil. Make your own with olive (or nicer scented oil) and save $$$ |
Not a product recommendation - but make sure you are working from the inside too - drink plenty of water and eat healthy fats - avocado, olive oil, fatty fish like salmon...I have noticed a difference in my skin since the low fat trend of the mid 90s ended even though I've obviously aged since then! |
