Seeing all the Gwyneth Paltrow hatred on here made me wonder whether DCUM posters just resent anyone who is the subject of public attention and pulls down an Oscar at a relatively young age. So I thought I'd throw out another name and see what response it gets.

Putting my personal cards on the table, I think she is stunningly beautiful and I'd probably pay admission just to watch her read a phone book.

Hate GP. No problem at all with Marion Cottilard but wonder sometimes why I've never seen her do an American accent.

I haven't seen her in much. Inception, and the Edith Piaf movie. What else has she been in?

I agree she has an unusual and compelling beauty.

People don't dislike GP because of her Oscar. They dislike her because of her aspiration to "lifestyle guru" and almost insufferable smugness.

I like her. To the PP who asked what else she'd been in, Contagion and Midnight in Paris are two of her other popular movies.

Cotillard is a product of nepotism too. La Vie en Rose was an Oscar worthy performance though.

I agree with PP it's the smugness and trying to be a lifestyle guru that makes me want to barf.
