Already doing the exercise where I hold a weight over my head and slowly lower it to upper back. Does anything else help?
Thanks. |
| Have you tried back arm pushups on a bench. They seem to help me. |
|
How old are you? If you're young, triceps push-ups.
If you're over 40, get some long-sleeved tops. |
| Over 40 and that's just rude. You will be over 40 someday too |
|
In my 20s and 30s I tried everyexercise for this. I had fabulously strong triceps...that nobody could see under the flesh. Even when I lost a lot of weight and was a size 2 (from a 10), they were there.
The only thing that made them go away was 6+ months of nursing. Spare tire remained but the flab is gone from my arms. |

Pushups... here is a training plan.

I don't think 12:14 was trying to be mean, but just to point out that for women, bat wings are kind of inevitable at a certain point. My yoga teacher (an incredibly fit woman in her 40's) jokes about it - she has them to a small degree. I'm 42 and very fit and have the teeniest hint of them.
But yes, planks can help. |
|
My gym has this arm/rope machine.
I feel like it's helping my "bat wings", but it might be diet related. I've lost an inch on my arms in the last two months.
|
| Swimming. I still have weight to lose, but I don't have bat wings. |
This. Find a sturdy table or something, put your hands on it (behind you), and go up and down and feel the burn. |
| Look at your eating unfortunately. Honestly I would look at your body composition and age. It is possible that they will never quite go away. |
+1 I'm 45 and I swim. I don't have bat wings. |

Don't listen to the over 40 comments, OP. Check out Tosca Reno, who got into healthy living and lifting weights in her 40s (or maybe older) and she looks fabulous.
Agree with the comments that you need to lose fat and build muscle to see a difference. New Rules of Lifting for Women and Couch to 5k along with a healthy diet have helped me tone up all over. |
| You should be also be doing triceps kickbacks, pushups and the rope attachment on the universal machine (extensions). In addition, working on rear deltoids also helps firm up that area. Most gyms have a machine that works this (it's usually also a pec machine). |
