I took a clear blue digital hpt last night, and it came up pregnant 1-2 weeks. Then I took one first thing this morning - and it said not pregnant. I'm about 2 - 3 days from my period.
Any thoughts? False positive with digital? |
| There is rarely a false positive. Either you have hcg or not. Could be a chemical. Wait it out until your missed period and see what happens. |
| Individual tests can vary in their sensitivity. Hopefully you just had a less sensitive test this morning. Good luck! |
| OP here - I took another one (same digital brAnd), and it says pregnant! I'll take another in a couple of days. |

A false positive is rare w/home pregnancy tests.
I would say the negative is more correct since you used your first morning's urine which is more concentrated and can give you a much more accurate result. |
I know people say that all the time, but my experience was the opposite. My pee sticks were always darker in the afternoon than they were in the mornings. |
I had the same experience. |
Isn't this a contradiction? You're saying that false positive are rare AND that the negative is more likely accurate? |
Eek....Now we are getting into the statistical and logistical aspects of this and I hate anything that reminds me of college!
So long! Lol..... |
I disagree with your second statement. More concentrated urine is more accurate for a positive test, not a negative one when you have gotten a positive with less concentrated urine. That is, if you get a bfp with more concentrated urine and then a bfn with less concentrated urine, the concentrated urine is more accurate. But If you get a bfn with more concentrated urine but then a bfp with less concentrated urine, it's much more likely that something was wrong with the negative test v the positive one since true false positives are really rare (not counting those pesky indent lines that have no color). |
