Gateway Child Development Center

Anyone here have a child in the center and can provide feedback? The location would be so convenient for us. Thanks!

I am in mtr and unfortunately have only heard negative things about it. Maybe try posting to the listserv.

Visited there when my now 12 year old was a baby, and honestly it looked, well, boring.

Marion's Daycare is a close-by home based care center, and I have heard lots of good things about her. She's walking distance from Gateway.

How about Heritage?

Boring for an infant? What do you mean? Or did you mean the room for the older kids looked boring?

Thanks for the rec on Marion - her location is also good for us.

I'm at Heritage and love it there!

My neighbors used to use Gateway, but they weren't too impressed with it and had some issues. However, I have heard good things about them also from other people. Have you been by there yet? I never toured the inside, the building it is in seems run down and not to my liking...but I never did see it in the inside.

Also, right by Heritage, there is:

St. Ann's
Rheema
Our Redeemer

St. Jerome's is nearby too

Oh, right by Heritage there is also a home daycare called Giant Steps, on Eastern Avenue. Not sure what it's like or what the tuition is, but I drive by there every day on the way to Heritage, and the house looks nice and kept up, with a nice play area in the back.

Could explain a little bit about the issues? Like staff not responding to child's emotional needs? Cleanliness? Something major? Or a series of minor things? Thanks

Hi, it's been a few years and I don't remember much about the conversation, and they moved away so I can't ask them. I think I remember it having something to do with feeding. I don't think it was anything major.

Hi OP. Specifically, it didn't look like the infants were very stimulated. More just kind of parked in a room without much stuff to look at, although that may have been due to the timing of my visit. And it looked dull for the older kids.
