Come on, there has to be someone else out there. I mean, when you go to family functions and you're thinking "Oh damn it, Davey's going to be there; he's so annoying/psycho/whiny/bratty/dark and disturbing, etc.
'Tis the very long season (summer holidays thru Thanksgiving/Christmas/Hanukkah/NewYear's and so on), so fess up. I'll admit to it; who else? |
No all the kids are well behaved in my extended family. |
I have no extended family. ![]() |
My cousins are horrific. Couldn't stand them when we were younger (their father is my mother's brother) and nothing's changed. The oldest isn't so bad but he's got a thing for robbery. The middle one wasn't so bad as a smaller child but grew into a know-it-all, married the guy who knocked her up but he left her for his old girlfriend who had 4 kids with 3 different men. The guy she's married to now is nice but her DD has skankdom in her future. The younger brother, well, some of it's not his fault since he's literally got low IQ but, he has problems keeping his pecker out of underage girls (they're 14-15 and he's 18-19 and I can't believe they even let him). My aunt and uncle even let his last 15 year old girlfriend move in with him in their house. They didn't ensure she was on birth control and, of course, she got pregnant. Poor kid doesn't have a chance. |
My sister's son is an annoying pain in the ass. Lies, steals, and spread gossip. His parents never correct their precious snowflake, so he has few friends.
He is not allowed in my house. |
So, I have this second cousin whom we see occasionally at family functions. I'll never forget when, about 10 years ago now, this kid (probably 7 or 8 at the time) came up to my husband and me and gave us his card. The card read:
Larlo Smith, Child Gag inducing much? Fast to today, this kid has a raging coke and meth habit and cannot hold down a job. So ironically, that business card from when he was 7 or 8 may be as good as it gets for him. I hope not, for his and my cousin's sake. |
Just realized my post is unclear - this kid was my second cousin's son. I can never remember if that makes him my third cousin or second cousin once removed. ![]() |
My friend's cousin's son, age 11, stole seventy bucks from her wallet. At the time, she was unemployed, which he knew.
My niece is the kind of girl who calls family members fat, ugly, and tacky, and every Thanksgiving I eat as far away from her as possible so as not to hear her whispers. It drives me insane, but I love my brother's other children, so we end up seeing quite a lot of each other. Hopefully iy's just a phase. |
Sounds just like OP and everyone else who responded to this dismal thread. |
I adore my cousins (we grew up very close and have stayed so as adults) and I find their kids to be sweet and well-mannered. They mostly live close together and I do whatever necessary to get there for as many family events as possible.
Other side of the family is the same except for 3 black sheep (all same immediate family) They never come to anything so it's not a problem. Maybe because other cousins are married to law enforcement and these 3 all have records and probably warrants! |
Did not realize there were so many potential day time talk show guests/families on DCUM! |
Ha. |
My cousin who was born a guy has now decides to become a woman. I find it fascinating to watch, like a train wreck you can't look away. The rest of my family can't stand him but they couldn't stand him before either. |
My very ADHD nephew irritates the heck out if me.... |
I acknowledge & avoid the annoying relatives, and pay attention to the ones I like. Child or adult, sometimes it's hard to tell the difference... |
