Vasectomy Questions

| Dh is scheduled for a vasectomy and I couldn't be more excited, no more condoms! Just a couple questions though. How long after the vasectomy do they do the sperm test? Has anyone had an experience here where the sperm were not gone after the first test? |

| 8 weeks later. Completely gone for me. |

| Yep, took 6 months for the sperm to be gone. Of course I got pregnant during that time -- yes we know how babies are made. So just make sure they are gone not just low. |

| OP here and we really want to be sperm free after the first test. I'm assuming the more we "use it" the better the chance? |

| My husband's didn't "take". He had to have it done again, haven't taken the test yet. |

| NP here. How long is the recovery? How long until he's feeling normal again? |

| I was miserable for a week. Every step felt like someone was tapping my testicles with a hammer. A week out and I was panicking that the pain would be permanent. Then it got pretty suddenly better. Completely back to normal in 2-3 weeks. |

Both times, first didn't work, my husband was fine. He even went grocery shopping before coming home from doctors. He was a little sore next morning but mowed the lawn and went fishing. |
