Have two sons who were recruited for lacrosse ask me anything and I will provide candid responses

Having gone through this process twice now one for Div 1 and one for Div 3 program(s) I feel qualified to speak on the process. In fact I feel like I could write a book on the matter. Helping/advising others that we know if they need it and happy to answer any questions you have regarding the process. Anyone who wants to come and bash the sport of the very over talked about "lax culture" on this thread I would really appreciate keeping it to the topic at hand.

Did you find some schools put undue pressure on your sons to accept an offer early in the process? I'm seeing this with a friend's child.

P.S. With a different sport.

How much athletic scholarship money did each DC get - each year at college?

Doesn't each team only have 12.5 scholies so even if Duke wants you, you probably have to pay at least partial?

A few schools came on strong but remember these coaches need to cast a wide net, they make a lot of kids feel like they are "that special one". You learn quick about how to read a coaches' body language and read between teh lines. They can come on strong but at the same time, can also disappear as quickly as they came when someone else catches their interest..it is a very fickle process.

D1 son- about 20% of total tuition
D3-nothing they do not award money/scholarships.

Yes very very few get a full ride. There are many factors that go into WHEN a coach is totally honest/forthcoming....parent income, ability to pay, of course how bad they want the kid.

OP,
One school has threatened to withdraw its offer, it's really quite intense. Again, a different sport. It's kind of ugly if you ask me.
