| No. If someone steals my car keys they will not have access to my house and vice versa. You? Just curious. |
| PP, do you keep them both in the same place, ie, your purse? |
| Yes. |
|
Yes. It's just a pain in the butt to separate them. I've lost my keys more times than I've had them stolen (which has been zero times), so in evaluating the risks, it makes much more sense to keep them together.
However I might separate them if I'm going for a run or something. No need to take my car keys if I'm going for a run at home, so I might take them off the carabiner to lighten the load. |
But you keep your garage door opener in your car so it doesn't matter. |
| No, because I rarely drive, so there's not much point in carrying car keys all the time. Plus we have the electronic car keys that are something like $300 to replace, so the less time they are in danger of being lost, the better. |
| House door locks are coded, so no key. |
This started my day off with a nice chuckle. Thx I keep them together unless I'm going for a run. |
| Keep keys separate. I do not have a garage so I do not need an opener. I wear my car keys on a lanyard around my neck (my 2yo likes to press the car alarm buttons on the key). House keys stay in purse. |
|
Yes. Gosh, it's not like we live in an area infested with crime. Very little chance of being carjacked.
Regular loss? Most people are good and will either turn your keys into security ( like at work or a store) or at most ignore them. The everyday benefit to me of keeping them on the same key ring far outweighs any risk. |
If that is your concern, you really need to separate your house key from your ID. Your ID tells them where you live. |
| I'm a guy and thus carry my keys in my pocket. It would be too bulky with the keyfob connected to my house keys. I keep them in separate pockets. I have keyless entry and ignition, so I never have to pull the car key out of my pocket. |
It actually doesn't matter because we lock the door that leads from the garage into the house. |
| ^^^right. I keep my garage door that leads to house locked. Most people do not. |
Yup, and criminals know it. |
