Anyone else pushing the stroller to the Mall on Tuesday? |
I am pretty sure that strollers are banned... you might want to double-check before doing it. |
I think strollers are banned in the ticketed area but not in the general public area. Can anyone confirm that? |
I heard strollers were banned on the parade route but not on the mall.... |
Strollers are allowed on the Mall, but not the Parade route, per the Secret Service:
http://www.secretservice.gov/presidential_inaugural.shtml Fwiw, we took our Bob Revolution down to the Mall today for the concert and it was fine. We walked from Mt. Pleasant. However, the crowd expected for the Inauguration itself is estimated to be 4x the number of people who were expected at the concert (2 million versus 500K). |
Nope-too cold and I hate crowds. |
If I lived in DC I might brave it with my 4 year old. I think it will be a nightmare trying to get into DC from the burbs though. I would definetely try to have a back out plan place to stop closer by if you need it, perhaps friends who live in DC who are not planning on going. No idea how you would do a diaper change outside, perhaps go on a route close to museum or hotel areas. Good luck. |
Best idea of getting there from NW DC? I live near Glover Park. Can I take a taxi part way, then walk? The metro is at least a 1.5 from us. I know lots of roads are closed but how far down do you think we can drive? |
Glover Park, what about catching a 30s bus to get closer? Or do you think it will be too full up by the time it gets to Glover Park? |
