Looking for a low calorie beverage to replace juice

Anonymous
I need to lose about 15 pounds, and the main dietary issues I have is that I drink a lot of juice. I hate water, tea, etc. but love to drink all kinds of juices. A glass of grape juice is one of the most refreshing beverages in my opinion.

I don't drink any alcohol or coffee, and soda only if in a restaurant. I know this juice drinking in large quantities is contributing to my weight issues. I have tried sparkling waters and can't stand the taste, regular water is boring, flavored water isn't much better, etc. I don't drink diet drinks because I don't like the taste. Any recommendations for a low calorie beverage I haven't thought of?

Try water with fresh-squeezed lemon.

The other option is to water down the juice you like. Take steps, like first half juice and half water for a week or two; then a third juice, two-thirds water for a week or two; and so on. Eventually, your taste buds will adjust.

Have you tried diluting your favorite juices with sparkling water? Start slow and work up to just a splash of juice in a glass of water.

Also, different bottled waters taste different. So try all you can.

You might try the Bai drinks; they're pretty low-calorie and very tasty. I would go with the watering down method. You CAN get used to something different, it just takes a few days. I have recently given up sugar in my coffee, something I never thought would be possible, and it tastes fine to me after about a week.

Hi, OP here. I don't mind bottled water but I honestly find that drinking water with meals makes the food taste worse, I've always felt this way.

I like the idea of diluting my juice, I can definitely try that.

I drank a lot of milk while pregnant--whole milk--but know that is high calorie as well.

I've tried sparkling water and just can't stand the taste of it.

It tastes like water. with fizz.

seriously, just drink it and get over it. Juice is LOADED with calories thanks to all the sugar. you can learn to like something or tolerate it.

I hated sparkling water at first, too.
However, if I mixed sparkling water with a drop of juice, it was more palatable.

Try making water infusions. Place a lime and a cucumber in water for at least 30 minutes. Then take out the fruit and drink the water. You get some flavor but no extra additives.

do you have a good blender?
maybe cucumber, lime, mint, ice with a dash of agave?

but I agree, you need to learn to love water. Pitchers with sliced oranges?

Lately I have been into Hint water and Ayala's Herbal Water from Whole Foods. The Hint waters come in some interesting flavors, and the there is a ginger-lemon peel variety of the herbal water that is quite refreshing. I also like flavored seltzers (Poland Spring raspberry lime and Vintage Pomegranate are favorites).
