| DH and I are thinking of doing a day trip to either Middleburg, VA or Frederick, MD. Does anyone have any suggestions of things to do, places to eat, etc. in either town? |
| Frederick is pretty fun - there are some great restaurants and shops and the waterway is nice for walking around too. |
| Frederick you can do some close wineries, and there is a cidery (sp?) close too, as well as some breweries in Fredrick where you can tour, but the weekend tours book up fast. The downtown shopping/restaurant area is cute too. DInner at Volt is probably booked, but maybe you could get a brunch seating. My recollection is that there is a bit less in Middleburg as the main street is quite small, but that there are more nearby wineries. |
| Frederick! |

Make a reservation at Volt for brunch in Frederick. I would also go on the one weekend a month when there are barn sales if you're into shopping for furniture/vintage stuff.
Middleburg is cute too and there are good wineries nearby. |
| Middleburg is nice, but I prefer Frederick. Lots of shops (esp. if you like antiques) and better restaurants. |

Middleburg > Frederick
If you are looking for a trip with in 60-90 minutes of DC, I would consider Annapolis, Easton, or St Michaels as well. |
