My husband has an ugly eames imitation chair (appears to be a reproduction plywood/selig) which appears to still have a decent market value of anywhere from $750 to $950 from what I can tell from my online research. I've hated the look of this chair for the last 13 years and my husband is finally willing to part ways with it. Are there any specific stores that buy these chairs (were in Montgomery County) or is craigslist my best option?

| This better not be the chair I gave your DH before he met you. If it is, i want it back. |
Is it a hideous shade of dookie brown with a squeaky ottoman that he never sat in but insisted he loved ? If you take his incontinent, deaf, constantly shedding mangy collie that he also brought to the relationship, you can have the chair back for free

ha ha, wrong guy -- I mean, chair! |
| I'd try craigslist . . . but honestly, I have not had good luck selling even very nice used furniture. There's just not that much of a market for it, it seems. But good luck, let us know if you find a store that will take in on consignment or something! |

Seriously? Craigslist is AWESOME in this area. I've gotten top dollar for furniture I was going to give to Goodwill. I've even purchased furniture, used it for 5 years and sold for more than I paid. |
Mid Century Modern has sort of a cult following. It's more than just "used" furniture. Sellers buy it up to resell themselves. OP, there used to be some Mid Century Modern shops around town; maybe you can google them and see if they take items on consignment. http://www.huntedhousedc.com/press_releases.htm http://www.cantilevermodern.com/ |

hilarious. i wish this could have played out a bit more. |
Agreed! This is hilarious. I haven't heard the word dookie in ages. |
| There's a consignment place on Eisenhower in Alex, and another one that I think does MCM type stuff (Evolution?) in FFX Cty. Alex. I wouldn't put something valuable on Craigslist. People want bargains there. |
