No, DCPCSB is concerned about quality control. The application was not satisfactory.

Neighborhood school advocates should focus their energies on neighborhood schools; it's not as if they're good enough that they can spare the resources elsewhere.

How would Washington Global attract families on the Chinese side? Yu Ying already has a middle school feeder, doesn't seem like a good idea. However, it seems like a solid option for DCPS spanish dual language schools who need a middle school option. How does this new Charter hurt the proposed "MacFarland"?

Excellent! And this one isn't a "DCPS Spanish Immersion by default" model. Hopefully it's the new Yu Ying!

Where will you elementary school kid get their Chinese language instruction from? Or will they just pick it up in middle school?

They may pull in students from traditional DCPS dual language schools or maybe some DCI feeders depending on location.

I hope they find space in Ward 7 or 8 as there are no quality middle schools on that side of the river. Oh yeah, there is Achievement prep but no other program.

They originally said they're looking at Ward 3. Depending on their financing, Mass. Ave. isn't out of the question.

Doubtful that any DCI families would switch schools to jump in - why give up on a solid investment and a sure thing? However, it could attract like-minded families who didn't get into DCI.
