Hi, I have never had a facial and would like to try to get one, but have a few questions.
What is included in a facial? If there are different type, how do I pick one? And how long should I expect a session to last? I am not even sure what skin type I have. I don't have clear skin, I get zits every now and then, but I also sometimes breakout. Also, my skin dries out and peels sometimes. So does that mean I have combination skin or oily? The spa place probably could answer all these questions too, but it would be nice to walk into a place and at least know some basics! Thanks! |
Ask to book a time slot for a basic facial. You could ask the receptionist to let the aesthetician know you'll want some "personalizing"... they like to use their judgment with that stuff once they have a look at the client's skin, anyway. Costs usually refer more to time than products/ procedures, anyway. Enjoy. |
sometimes they have one type that includes extractions and one that doesn't. if you don't want to look red, etc over the next few days, get the one without the extractions. if you want the works and don't have a wedding to go to or something, get the works. |
And if you don't know what extractions are: that's when they pop out every single little blemish and blackhead you didn't even know you had.
Without extractions, it's more like a soothing massage for your face. Lots of different lotions, hot towels, etc in a warm dark room so you can nap. Your skin will feel soft and happy afterwards, but it's not a long-term skin treatment. |
10:38 again- plan on about an hour. Some salons might offer a shorter time for less money. This will probably be equally effective, just with less relaxing time. |
Thanks everybody! I am looking forward to my first facial! |
