I didn't think we were going to have kids when we were house hunting, and did not really pay attention to the public schools in our area. One week after we moved in, I found out I was pregnant. Lately I've been hearing, "No one in this neighborhood sends their kids there" about our assigned elementary school, which is Greencastle Elementary. Is it really that bad? (Yes, I've seen the Great Schools rating.) I'm a big believer in the concept of public schools and really don't want to send my kid to private. Not sure what I'm asking here, maybe I'm just venting. But why doesn't everyone who won't send their kid there (or to similar schools) get together and get involved and maybe help turn things around rather than just running away? |
