Does or has anyone had a GE fridge? Are they good? We love our GE stove.
|
Ge appliances are bottom of the barrel. Builders use them because they get them cheap. Repair ratings are pretty bad. We had all GE appliances except the refrigerator when we bought our house ten years ago. Every one has been replaced due to failure except the refrigerator which is a dub zero. Much better luck with kitchen aid.
Depends on the line of GE. They have the entire range, just like GM offers the entire range of cars (from Chevy to Cadillac). We have GE Monogram (high end) and they work great.
Great ovens and ranges. Fridges and dishwashers are terrible. After being fixed twice in four years, we finally ditched ours after it flooded our kitchen. Bought a Samsung and haven't looked back!
We have a cafe French door fridge and really like it. It's one of the highest rated ones on amazon, consumer reports and the ge store website.
I think Whirlpool is the builder grade brand! We have owned GE Profile French Door and Cafe French Door and I have experience with a GE side by side in a rental. The regular GE and the Cafe were the best. The Profile froze things in the back. I think you need to just read reviews and pick what you can in your budget! Good luck!
Thanks. We heard directly from both a small business owner that sells lots of different brands and from an appliance repair person that GE makes the best stoves that need the fewest repairs so we know they're not builder grade bottom of the barrel. We'll look at the fridge reviews since we don't know as much about them.
GE makes really good ovens and stoves. Their fridges are terrible. The best fridges are LG or Samsung.
GE profile fridge here. Terrible. It freezes the produce in the produce drawer. We had a GE repairman try to fix it to no avail. It was in the house when we bought it 8 years ago. I just wish it would break so I can replace it!
My GE Profile refrigerator sucks. The shelf holders are 12" wide, but the shelves are 11.75" wide and are always collapsing.
Another unhappy GE profile fridge owner. We have a french door, bottom freezer model. Have had to have the ice maker repaired and everything on the bottom shelf of the fridge, and in the back of the produce drawer, freezes. Would never recommend GE fridge. Wish I had bought a kitchenaid.
My GE fridge broke after 5 years and I just replaced it rather than try to fix it. Then, we moved into a house that had GE appliances - and one by one they started falling apart - the handle on the microwave broke off, the switch to close the dishwasher got stuck. I will never buy a GE appliance.
