bronchitis symptoms lingering?

My DH came down with bronchitis a little over two weeks ago--it started with a sore throat, then progressed after a couple days to a horrendous cough. He also felt under the weather for a few days, with a low-grade fever. Things began improving after about a week and he's back to functioning normally. However, he still doesn't feel quite 100%, even though he's fine to go to work and do things around the house. The cough is still bothering him and he feels a little rundown, if not quite "sick." Does this sound normal for bronchitis? He doesn't feel sick enough to go back to the doctor (he saw his doctor at the outset), but I'm not sure how long these symptoms should last and if I need to be watching for anything else. FWIW he is 40 with no major health problems and he rarely gets sick.

I suggest that he return to the Dr. and get a chest x-ray. He may have pneumonia or in is case since he is able to function and work, "walking pneumonia."

Hope he feels better soon!

Every time I have bronchitis the cough lasts for about 3 weeks, but if he is still feeling run down he should call the doctor.
