Possible broken foot or toe?

I banged my toe into a wall a couple days ago.

Toe, foot, and ankle still hurting. Toe area tingles some. Pain is mild to moderate, not severe.

I have an appt with a foot doc for Tuesday.

I'm wondering if I should go to an ER or urgent care over the wknd to see if it is broken. But I'd rather not sit in ER for hours.

If it is broken, would the pain be severe?

Any recs of places to go? I am in Arlington close to DC. DC or Arlington or close by would be good. I have federal bcbs ppo.

I have no experience with this, but in your place I'd either go to a higher level urgent care or the ER. The ER at Sibley Hospital is usually not very crowded relative to others and would be my choice if I wanted to wind it all up in two hours or so.
