Sure, we can debate the expensive prices and quality, but at least they usually churned out some cute things. I've been so disappointed by the things I've seen at Anthropologie lately. Are they trying to become Urban Outfitters? WTF is this crap?
|
| I'm fine with everything but the kitten earrings! |
| That stuff looks very cheap. Not a fan. I guess these days we just have to hunt harder for the good things. |
ditto...everything (sans earings) you showed has always been anthropologie |
|
Anthro and UA are the same company.
(gas) And I think earrings are "kawaii" |
gasp not gas
|
| Well...they are part of the Urban Outfitter chain |
| I've shopped at Anthro for about a decade, and haven't seen them this weird, ever. Anthro used to be more whimsical and feminine, than trendy/hipster/kitschy. They are morphing into Urban Outfitters. I wonder if the owners plan on merging them or something? |
|
Yes, disappointed with the more recent catalogues. |
| The sunglasses are RayBans -- those are iconic. |
Is that code for overpriced and frumpy?
|
Perhaps, but that can be said for most any popular chain clothing retailer. |
| Never liked the weird faux-vintage, frilly shit they have. |
| As the clientele gets younger, the product evolves. |
| I loooove those sunglasses. But what's happening is that Anthro is trying to appeal to 20 somethings, not realizing that the aesthetic that they're going for was over 6 months ago. |
