Carrying finishes throughout the house--would this be weird/too much?

We currently have one bathroom with marble floor tile and white subway tile on the walls. We have white kitchen cabinets and white subway backsplash with dark stone countertops. Obviously, we like things light. We're about to re-do another bathroom. Would it be too much to do the shower in white subway if we use something else on the floor like marble or some darker stone for contrast? On the one hand, it's cohesive in terms of the rest of the house. On the other, is it just too much the same? Thoughts?

I think you have to live there so you should do what appeals to you.
