Can anyone recommend toys for a 7 mo old on plane?

Anonymous
I'm taking 7 mo old DS on a 4 hour plane ride tomorrow by myself (on my lap). Most of the flights I've taken with DS have been fine- he's been calm, slept most of the way, and DH has been with me. He's much more active now (started crawling recently, won't sit on my lap without squirming, moans if we're not in motion, etc). Can anyone recommend some toys to bring on the plane that aren't too noisy and will keep a baby interested for a good bit of time? I have an ergo so I'm going to walk him around at times in that. Any other suggestions?

At buybuybaby there is a big tub of different types of balls right near the cash registers (Rockville store). I'm not going to describe this well, and can't find a pic online, but they are made of flexible plastic, like multiple octagons connected together. So it's super-lightweight, and even the most clumsy baby could grasp it. It smushes well in a diaper bag, and my 16 month old son loved it on a plane. They are about 6 inches in diameter.

they sell them other places, but that's the one I remember.

My baby likes hats. Not to wear but to pull off his head, my head, anyone's head. If yours likes this game too a few hats could go along way and lightweight and easy to pack.

Measuring spoons. But get plastic, not metal. The metal ones are too noisy.

Things that worked well with my active little one from 5 to 9 month:
touch and feel book,
a hard toy to chew on (cube or rattle),
a squeaky toy (Sophie la giraffe) to hide under mummy's shirt, on mummy's head etc ,
musical book (plays a different song for each page with a few buttons to press/lift,... at each page )
a soft animal to calm her down for nap/night time
teething biscuits

Thanks, everyone. These are helpful suggestions.
