I'm 35 weeks pregnant and leaning past my huge stomach to put on socks and shoes to walk on my treadmill (which I do three times a day per my OB) is becoming difficult and uncomfortable. I don't wear socks when it's warm, so I'm not going to do that. Are there any passable shoes I get for the next few weeks, i.e., I don't need serious running shoes since I'm not going very fast anymore.

would you consider Keen sandals? I wear them for walking the dog when it's hot out.
If don't have to fasten them, I would have no problem with them! I haven't looked at Keens in years, thanks for the suggestion.
You've probably thought of this but instead of leaning down, put your foot up on a stool or something and tie the laces there. Why buy new shoes if you don't have to. I had to do this for months when I was pregnant. A week after I gave birth, I was very excited to sit on the stool and lean down instead.
I find the best, most comfortable and supporting slip-ons in the world are Merrell Jungle Mocs. Love them. Unfortunately they're really a fall/winter shoe, ugly in summer. But if no one's seeing it but you and your treadmill, it would be really great support. and easy on/easy off.
You're going to hate this suggestion, but what about Crocs? I wore those the last two weeks of my pregnancy and they were comfortable, supportive, and slip-on-able!
they aren't walking shoes per se but I got a pair of sperry topsiders and they are super comfortable. They are just for quick slip on and off when I am running errands, going to yoga etc. Love them. There is a store at Fashion Centre.
Easy Spirit makes slip-on sneakers.
+1. Or flipflops. |
