Need an organic fertilizer recommendation (that won't attract ants like coffee or seaweed)

I want to keep my garden organic, but the plants look a bit yellow, and it needs fertilizer. Any organic suggestions, particularly that I can grab locally at a store? I am afraid to use coffee or seaweed - I put coffee in there a few weeks ago and TONS of ants came.

Yellow means they probably need iron. The best organic source for that is dried/powdered blood spread liberally around the base of the plant. You can buy it at most garden shops. And if you're a then you've a steady supply.

Espoma has a great line of organic fertilizers. I buy from Behnke's.

That's so bizarre that plants need blood. Is it really blood? From what?

Do you use one of the Garden Tone ones?

Yes, I get Plant-tone, Flower-tone, Bulb-tone and Tomato-tone. I also scatter some bloodmeal, greensand, lime and bonemeal while planting (all Espoma).
