Painting my bathroom cabinet black

| Just moved into a new house and want to paint the master bath cabinets black to pick up black in a tile band around the room. The cabinets are 5 years old, in great condition, and a cordovan-like color. Do I need any special kind of paint for this? Also, I'm not sure if I'll DIY or hire someone. Can any painter do this, or is there anything unique about painting cabinets? Thanks! |

You'll need to sand or prep the cabinets somehow to get the paint to stick. Lots of advice to be found online, or go to a good paint store (not Home Depot) and they can tell you what you need.
Search old threads--I think there was a recommendation recently for someone who painted cabinets. |
