Looking for a a fun, hip, slightly upscale restaurant to take my husband to celebrate some potentially good news after a long and very difficult year. We are in our late 30's/early 40's so prefer a place that has good food, nice, fun ambience, decent crown (but doesnt cater to the super young and drunk!). Something to help lift this black cloud we have had over us for so long. Prefer Arlington but would consider DC. Thanks!
Water and Wall
Eventide or Grand Cru
Lyon Hall
I second the Eventide suggestion. Their rooftop is great too on a nice evening.
no ideas, but congrats and good luck to you op! what a relief to have your bad stretch over. hugs!

On a sliding scale from fancy to casual: 2941, Eventide, Tallulah, Liberty Tavern.
Or if you're willing to travel to Alexandria, Vermilion or Evening Star Cafe. |

On second thought, 2941 is upscale fine dining, but not necessarily "fun" or "hip." Also a little bit of a hike from Arlington.

Liberty Tavern, esp if you can go on a weeknight. The food is absolutely fantastic but it can get busy on weekends...
