Macon in CC CD

Anonymous
New restaurant, Macon, opened near CC DC circle in Chevy Chase arcade this weekend.

Has anyone been yet? Would like to try it next weekend, but have family coming in and am nervous about taking them to a place that just opened. They are super picky about service.

Is that Macon like Burgundy or Macon like Allman Brothers?

Macon like the city in Georgia.

OP why pick an all new place if you're feeling worried? Go with something you know

most new restaurants will have service issues in the early days - even if it all straightens out quickly I would not bring family who have high standards re service to any newly opened restaurant.

Only in DC

Hey, it's in Chevy Chase circle. You could see how it could go either way.

Yes-- that made me smile.

I heard it was modeled after both Macons. I think the food is French and Southern.

Yes, it was both Macons, was there this weekend, and it was very nice space and running smoothly already. Excellent food, not a huge menu (you can see it on line) but enough to please everyone I suspect. Well worth a visit.

Hello to you! I looked at the menu online - it's supposed to mix Macon GA with Macon France, but I'd call it fancy southern. I'm looking forward to trying it. Our weekends are jam packed right now so we probably won't be able to get there for a month or so. I don't think I know the owner but friends of friends have commented on the restaurant's FB page so it seems like there is a pocket of ex-Maconites in the area that I never knew about.

Honestly, it's both! I read the blurb on their web page and it's an homage to both places.
