Lemon meringue pie in NW/Bethesda

Anonymous
Where can I get a slice of lemon meringue pie in NW DC or Bethesda/CC area? Tried Tastee Diner, Chadwick's, Whole Foods. Not available. DC wants to try this. He's usually super finicky and resistant to trying new foods, so I'd like to encourage his newfound food curiosity. I, personally, hate meringue - both making it and eating it, so don't want to have to make this myself if I can avoid it.

They had it at Suburban Trading in Kensington this weekend. Was delish.

Sorry i don't know for certain, but often a diner will have it so that is a place to check. I looove lemon merengue pie and I still don't make it from scratch - it is hard!

That's where I was going to suggest. Their selection changes so call ahead and find out if/when it's on the rotation.

Call American City Diner?

(Also, Central does a FANTASTIC version, but not sure if that's quite the speed you are looking for!!)

I would bet Balducci's would have it.

For a child who just wants to taste it, you can get a decent one in the frozen food section of Giant. Not quite the same as a fancy restaurant, but still tasty and the whole pie costs less than a slice at a restaurant.

I was going to suggest something similar, except our giant had them fresh baked this week.

I think Praline has lemon meringue tarts. Pretty sure WF has them too, although I am not a fan of their baked goods.
