| Finally forced myself to watch Frozen, and I have a question. Why is Elsa the breakout star of this movie? Specifically: why is there a disney princess and costume for her when the younger sister is the real star of the movie? Serious question. Is it simply because Elsa's dress is prettier? |

They both are Disney princesses. Elsa is more popular IMHO because she has magical powers.
|
| My child loves Elsa. Loves. Anna is filler to the story that is Elsa. |
| Neither makes a great case for herself in the film. Anna is desperate for love and trusts foolishly; Elsa can't handle her emotions and lashes out and runs away when times get tough. Best person in the movie is the non-prince ice vendor guy. |
The star of the movie is clearly Olaf... |
| My 5yo prefers Anna. But Elsa has the powers and the fabulous dress and ice castle. |
| My daughter (incidentally named Elsa) likes Olaf best. But really, it's the magical powers and fancy gown. |
| Elsa has sparkles on her dress, a crown and powers. The end. |
| Elsa has a sparkly dress and sings Let it Go. |
| It's because of Let it Go. My daughter loves Anna too. |
| Because of the magical powers. My daughters discuss her daily. |
| I just asked my six year old, and she says it is because Elsa is the ice queen and she made the castle all by herself. |
| building that ice castle was a HUGE hit with all genders in my family |
|
My girls go back and forth on which one they like best. They love Elsa because she has magical powers but love Anna because she's funny and because in the end she saved herself by saving her sister. And together they figured out how Elsa could learn to use and control her powers.
Overall, a great message. And I have guilted them into stopping fights by saying "What would Elsa and Anna say about sisters fighting like this!" |

Elsa was a god.
Hit song, magic powers and she could create life. Anna was just a very determined human being. |
