eSET Twins

Anonymous
I did eSET and recently got my betas back. Very happy to be pregnant for the first time after a long battle. However my HCG betas are really high.

Based on this information, what do you all think the probability is that I could have twins in there? U/s is next week but this is making me so nervous!

Beta info:
13dpt - 995
17dpt - 1400

I know the chances of the embryo splitting are low but I haven't found anyone with a singleton that had betas this high. Anything else that could be going on that I should prepare for?

Is that beta 13 days post 5-day-transfer or 3-day-transfer?

It was a 5-day transfer.

My numbers were similar, and there's only one in there.

I was at 1200 13dpt and I'm pregnant with 1 baby. My RE commented he thought there was a chance the embryo split based off my levels but no, just 1.

OP here, thanks so much this really quells my nerves. Just realized I transposed the #s on second beta. It was not 1400, it was 4100.

yeah, mine was super high too, right through the third beta, but only had one baby. (after an eSet)

17:25 -- I actually misread what you typed, my numbers were actually higher -- 1370 at 18dpo and 3000+ at 20dpo. And there's still only one in there!

I don't have betas comparable to yours because they were done much earlier (9 and 11 dpt), but what clued me in that it might be twins was that second to first beta ratio was 2.5, moving much faster than expected. Sure enough, at 6 1/2 wk us we got 2 heartbeats. 32 weeks pregnant with identical twins from eSET.

Same here.

Similar numbers over here as well and I have just one.

+1. My first beta for my first DD was 995. My first beta for my twins was 1575.

I don't think numbers can tell you much. My first beta (11 days post 6 day transfer) was 478, my second (three days later) was 1700.

I have twins.

So it really can vary.

Good luck!

My first beta 984 post 6 day transfer --twins. But the doc did ultra sound right away and could see the sacs.

OP, have you checked out betabase? If nothing else it will show you how wide varying the range can be
