Do you need a Termite Bond or Treatment in Northern Va?

I am coming from the South where all homes have a termite bond. However, I do not know what is typical in Northern, VA. I know there is a termite inspection prior to buying, but do you pay for treatment every 5 years? Do you pay for a bond so that any new infestation or damage is automatically covered by the company you have the bond with? I am not sure if it is as big an issue as it is for the South.
