| Now that I am 50, retired (SAHM), I have gone back to my youth in being introverted. Long gone are the days of partying and chatting with everyone. I am not grumpy but contained, it's an effort yo talk to someone new. My husband on the other hand is very outgoing. I live in his shadow. I find I don't like many people. |
| Me too ... isn't it great!!! |

Wow, I could have written that. Former SAHM, now an empty-nester. Most socializing in the past revolved around the kids, I think. And now we're in a new-ish town with no relatives or family! But I'm really okay with doing my own thing. It's weird. I do have people I can get together with, get invited for lunches, walks, etc...but I kind of pick and choose when I want to hang out. I thought I was weird!

+2 But I'm only 47 |

Sounds lovely!
I've returned to my jock former self and am very involved in team sports. So nice that in this day and age I no longer feel like I'm not a real girl/woman because I love sports. I just do what I do and I don't care who likes it. Back in the 60s and 70s though it was tough to be an athlete. Thank god things have changed. |
+ 3 It's wonderful! |
| Yes!! There are many of us out here, and it is delightful. I like to think of myself as a functional introvert ... I can mingle when I choose but I rarely choose! |

This will be me in 30 years. Enjoy! |
| Oops - meant 20 years. |
| I love to putter around my house, go for walks with my dog, read, spend time with my family, travel when I can. Life is good when it is simple. When I do see friends I enjoy it but I don't seek out constant socialization. |

Love that - "functional introvert".
I'm probably a semifunctional introvert! |
+1 here too. Glad to know there are others out there

There's nothing wrong with enjoying introversion. SAHM + ES = introversion is impossible, so I envy you
Better introversion than yet another Laser Tag Bday Party! Do what you want to do. Go to museums. Walk in the park. Read. Let someone else be the life of the party and have 300 Friend/strangers on Facebook. You're fine. |
