DH and I do not have any kind of will or trust, or power of attorney. Now that we have a child, it's time to get started with this.
DH is in a high powered profession--what sort of estate planning should we pursue? How do you know what you need in terms of this? |

I would look at Nolo/Quicken's Willmaker book/software-- for $30 you can become very educated about this.
You can also get a decent will out of their software, but even if you go to a lawyer to draft the will, which is usually a good idea, you will be much better off in your discussions if you spend an hour or two ahead of time learning about wills and POAs. |
