Confused about wills/trusts--what do I need?

Anonymous
DH and I do not have any kind of will or trust, or power of attorney. Now that we have a child, it's time to get started with this.

DH is in a high powered profession--what sort of estate planning should we pursue?

How do you know what you need in terms of this?

I would look at Nolo/Quicken's Willmaker book/software-- for $30 you can become very educated about this.

You can also get a decent will out of their software, but even if you go to a lawyer to draft the will, which is usually a good idea, you will be much better off in your discussions if you spend an hour or two ahead of time learning about wills and POAs.
