Moms,
What is the norm that your child or children get you for Mother's Day? What would you like? |
|
Well, this isn't the norm, but this year I have one graduating from college on Mother's Day. That's gift enough for me!
|
|
Since my birthday is in May, it's a two-fer.
We go out for brunch the Sunday after Mother's Day to avoid the crowds, etc. We go to the gardening center and the kids buy me a hanging plant for my front door area. Back at my house, the kids install my window AC units and perform any minor heavy lifting tasks needed. Pleasant day for all, obligations fulfilled with minimum effort/cost, everybody happy, win-win. |
| I usually end up getting a big gift like a nice piece of jewelry, but I'm not expecting that. I'm expecting that I will get in a bike ride before breakfast with my older kids and then I will have bloddy marys on the deck with my MIL. |
| Usually get pretty much nothing, but this year I get brunch at a fancy restaurant, but on Saturday. They called too late for a reservation on the actual day. Oh well.... |
| My mom loves to garden, so every year my brother and I mail her some chocolates and a card with some cash to buy whatever seedlings she wants for that year. |
|
My husband will get me flowers. My son will look sad that my husband did not take him to get me something and then he will run up to his computer and make me a card.
I want to be able to give my mom a mother's day gift, but there is no point as she is far gone in dementia. |
| Husband already made brunch reservations for our family. I may get flowers and a couple of cards from the kids. Oldest son who will still be away at college will likely call or text me. |
| All four kids are coming over for brunch. We'll probably go see a movie or do mini-golf or something. They generally bring flowers and my favorite pastry, plus gifts. |
| My favorite Mother's day is my day to spend with the kids. I get up to coffee made, no cooking, no cleaning, no looking for the favorite shirt, no laundry, no grocery shopping, just relaxing and spending time with my children and husband (when he gets a chance to sit down)! This year is a little different, having mother-in-law over for a BBQ so maybe a little more work for me but my husband will do most of it. I don't care I just want a fun relaxing day with family. No gift needed. Gifts are over rated. My gifts are my family. Although I do usually get flowers and sometimes a small gift, I wouldn't be disappointed without! |
| My DD usually gets me flowers and maybe a bracelet , and signs my DS name on the card too. But I expect nothing. |
| We're going to a museum I've been meaning to get to for a long time. I usually ask for something like that on Mother's Day or my birthday. |
I've always made it a point that I don't want gifts. Period. Just important that they remember me. Both are in college, so I'll get two nice phone calls that day. Plus a nice day of relaxing
