| I'm trying to guess what housing prices might do in DC long term. I see Zillow (http://www.zillow.com/washington-dc/home-values/) shows the median price for single-family homes in DC increased 59% over the 10yr period from 2004 to 2014 (from $301k to $478k) which averages to 4.7% per year, but these have been a wild 10 years. I assume there are more sophisticated estimates out there than Zillow. I'll start googling around for them, but can anyone point me in the right direction? TIA. |

S&P Case Shiller futures are thinly traded, so not particularly reliable, but at least market-based predictions are somewhat more objective than individual opinion. Check here for futures prediction for Dc over next 5y (increase ~20%)

| Yowza. Thanks! |
It's interesting - on the very bottom graph - you can see the seasonal fluctuation (at least that is what I assume is causing the "hills"). |
Nice pointer. Any idea where I can find previous projections? So, I'd like to see what CS predicted for DC housing futures as on 1/2009, 1/2010, 1/2011, etc. Have previous projections been borne out? (That's important to know when evaluating current (snapshot) projections.) |
