I'm in a bit of a bind. I need to move in a few weeks and I just realize my tax lady never gave me back last years statements. And this is the only way I can prove my income. I've been calling her for weeks and she isn't in her office. I think she's on vacation. I really need my statements and I'm not sure how else I can get them on short notice. Please Help!!!!!
Not sure what you mean by 'tax lady' or 'statements' but financial institutions (banks, brokerage, etc) will be able to provide copies of last year's statements. If by 'statements' you mean statements your tax preparer attached to your filed returns, then you can request copies from the government.
If you mean your tax returns, then you can request a transcript from the IRS website.
Sounds like your "lady" is a waste of money, and you aren't too responsible.

Here are some links to the IRS website:
http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc159.html It isn't clear whether you need a copy of your return or your W-2 but you can get all of the information from the IRS. If you just need your W-2 and you are working for the same employer, you may want to see if HR can get you a copy quickly, though. |
