After ”dating” Taylor his jersey sales went through the roof, he is now an household name and his podcast has taken off. The NFL wanted the audience she brings in and has been trying to change their image since Kaepernick. Well look, they got it. Super Bowl was the most watched. And in general rating for the chiefs games went up.

Guess what, it all worked. So yeah, they all needed and wanted the PR.
